VendEase
An online platform for managing vending machines
- Problem
- Traditional vending runs with little data. The client, a vending machine operator, wanted one place to manage its machines, keep stock under control and take payments digitally.
- My role
- As the UI/UX designer I researched competitors and users, then designed the web platform.
- Scope
- The dashboard, devices and their stock, products, tokens and NFT collections, and promotions.
Overview
A platform for a vending machine operator
VendEase is an online platform for vending machine owners and operators. It helps them manage their machines, keep stock under control and move payments to digital, so a traditional business gets more data, more control and an easier way to work.
The client is a vending machine operator whose machines and customers have grown over the years. They wanted to run their machines more efficiently, with more technology, and to make their customers happier along the way.
Process
Research first, then the flows
I started with market research: how competing companies work, what they offer and where they fall short. Then I ran a first round of interviews to understand what users need and expect, and where it hurts. A concept map put the findings in order, and the personas came out of it.
With those in hand I drew the flow for adding a new device, giving it slots and placing products in them. After the wireframes and a moodboard, I set the typography and colours.
